The Magical Children's Garden

tree Mayor's Office
To Whom it may concern:

I am a student at Marta Valley High School. I am writing to let you know that I think that you should leave the Magical Children's Garden alone. I think that you should leave it open because the children should be safe instead of being in the streets. It is not right to take apart what was once a garden that kids were happy and cheerful in I think that it is a good place because we hardly have nice gardens around today.

Sincerely,
Cynthia Collado

City Hall, Mayor's Office:

I'm a student in Marta Valle Model High School on Norfolk and Stanton Streets on the Lower East Side of Manhattan. I'm writing about the Magical Children's Garden, also located on Stanton and Norfolk. This play area and garden was opened in 1985.

The reason why I'm writing is they are threatening to close down this garden. This garden is peaceful place where our little kids play. They just want to lay down another building or store. What's a neighborhood if when you look out your window all you see is other buildings.

Sincerely.

City Hall, Mayors Office:

I am a student from Marta Valle High School. The Magical Children's Garden is across from my school. The reason why I'm writing this letter is because I don't want the garden to be replaced with a building. Even though I have no personal experience in the garden, I know people who used to play in it when they were small. I also know that if you take the garden away you'll be taking away a great deal of memories. Another reason is because if you put a building in that spot it won't add anything to our neighborhood.

The garden has been there since 1985 or earlier. You'll be making a big mistake if you take the Magical Garden. I'm only doing this for my friend who I care about a lot. If you can't do it for me, do it for the person who lives next door. Do it for the people who walk by.

Sincerely,

I am a 9th grade student at Marta Valle High School on the Lower East Side. I think you should keep the Children's Garden open. I think you should keep it open because children need a place to play. The Magical Garden used to have needles and other junk before it was made a garden. When children don't have a play area, they get bored they might start to do something illegal. Without a garden children won't be able to be active and have fun. This garden is for and about children, it should stay and grow, like the plants.

Sincerely,
Faiza Abdurrahim

I am a student at Marta Valle Model High School. The Magical Children's Garden is across the street from my school. I am one of many students who are writing to try to prevent the garden from being destroyed. The garden is a place where children of different nationalities get together and play. It is different from other gardens because it is for children only. In this little garden you don't see anyone playing but little kids. Around the garden you don't see drug dealers. This garden has been open since 1985. Please keep this garden open.

Sincerely.

Please don't close the Magical Children's Garden on Stanton and Norfolk Streets on the Lower East Side. I am a Marta Valle student that used to go the garden when I was little. I don't want the garden to be closed because I've been going there since I was 3 years old. Now I'm 14 years old and my little brother loves to go there. If you knock it down where will the children play?

Sincerely,
Edwin Tavarez Alfredo
